Burden is yet another drama about overcoming racism. Garrett Hedlund and Forest Whitaker are powerful as the leads. What irks me is that for something so important, I keep feeling like I’m watching a retread of a retread. There are only so many ways that you can tell this kind of story. But, it’s also important to share these tales of courage.

The DVD comes with a behind the scenes featurette as the sole special feature. It’s not great, but at least it’s something. On smaller indie fare, that kind of effort should be commended.
