Transgender issues in media seem to be forcing their way to the forefront and not letting go. But, the film doesn’t wear a political message on its sleeve. “Boy Meets Girl” is about a medically transitioned woman trying to make a connection with another woman. Unfortunately, this romance takes a weird angle. The first woman still thinks as a man, plus the second woman’s husband is deployed in Afghanistan. Falling back on a key hetero buddy for help, our lead heroine tries to find a way to make sense of a changing world. Kudos on casting a trans actress in the lead, as it helps audiences adapt much easier to the tale.
The DVD comes with a trailer as the sole special feature. The A/V Quality is strong for an indie feature. The transfer is clean for standard definition. However, the Dolby 5.1 surround track doesn’t get a ton to do. Ultimately, I’d recommend a rental or stream.[/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]Release Date: 04/28/15[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
