bOObs: The War on Women’s Breasts

bOObs is one of the 900 documentaries I watched in the last few months. It’s 2020 and the backlog is real. So, pardon me that this one is getting here a little later than I wanted. There’s a reason for it.

Watching a film about women’s health as a man means about jack squat with most demos. For some it’s a woke thing, for others it’s because they just don’t give a damn about discussing the politics of healthcare. So, as a non impacted viewer of this material, I walk into it as an alien outsider.

For to put myself in these women’s shoes, the abuse of authority by certain medical professionals is gross. After all, when the whitecoats tell you that you might have cancer or a biopsy came back bad…you believe them. What are you going to do? Slice off a hunk of tit meat and study it yourself? You saw that last episode of John Adams, things didn’t end well for Sarah Polley.

While the bOObs documentary plays shorter than expected, it leaves you with so many ways to view concerns over breast cancer. There are plenty of crackpot theories tossed into the mix, but the emotional heart of the matter remains the same. Women deserve more options to take care of the health of their bOObs.

bOObs: The War on Women’s Breasts is available on DVD and SVOD on October 6th, 2020
