You do get the graphic nudity pay-off, but I hope that far more readers are familiar with the original novel and the subsequent adaptations. Mathieu Amalric offers up an admirable turn as director, while continuing to dominate in front of the screen. If you dig “Body Heat”, you’ll get a vibe from that here. Still, I wish that there was something far more classy to compare it, as the film dresses up its eroticism.
