Beth + Jeremy and Steve Hits VOD and DVD on May 30

Portland-shot age-gap romance meets surreal dark comedy, now from Freestyle Digital

Freestyle Digital Media, the digital distribution arm of Byron Allen’s Allen Media Group, will release Beth + Jeremy and Steve on VOD and DVD starting May 30, 2025.

Written and directed by Daniel M. Hill, the film is an offbeat romantic dark comedy that tracks a volatile love triangle through the emotionally scorched sidewalks of Portland, Oregon. It’s got Harold and Maude DNA mixed with weird suburban malaise and synthy nostalgia.

The Premise

  • Jeremy (Lucas Friedman): a disillusioned high school senior
  • Beth (Briana Ratterman): a 30-something at the edge of her marriage
  • Steve (Matthew Dibiasio): the husband — unstable, unpredictable, and not going quietly

Shot with a visual palette that leans retro-mod, the film drapes its interpersonal chaos in stylized light, 1980s Portland cool, and moments of surrealism that don’t need to wink at you to get under your skin.

Festival Circuit Praise

  • Best Actress – Santa Fe Film Festival
  • Best Screenplay – Chicago Blow-Up Film Festival
