BEAUTY AND THE BEAST REVIEWED
“Beauty and the Beast” returns with thirteen episodes of a series that I don’t know why it continues to exist. The fanbase for the original series is threadbare, plus there is nothing about this cast that inspires loyalty. The plot is a slight retread focusing on Catherine Chandler and her lover Vincent. It’s just that we get the slight grimdark CW dressing to make the series seem contemporary. That being said, every year of the show has played like the middle seasons of a basic cable drama. There’s no momentum and I had a difficult time getting through just 13 episodes. Defend this show to me, people. There must be somebody watching it.
