BALLERINA’S TALE, A

“A Ballerina’s Tale” is a stunning look at the athleticism and grace required to be a principal dancer. While Misty Copeland made news for being the first African American principal dancer of the American Ballet Theater. What this documentary does is slow things down and explain Copeland’s path to prominence. I love it when highly focused art gets a chance to be recognized. Yeah, I like ballet. It doesn’t make me Billy Elliot or anything.

The Blu-Ray comes with deleted scenes and a trailer as the special features. The A/V Quality is amazing for a documentary. The 1080p transfer is flawless and matched by a stunning 5.1 track. I wish that my receiver could read it as true lossless audio. Still, I’d recommend a purchase.

Release Date: 2/2/16
