“Asylum” is an After Dark original and I’m about tapped out watching these movies. Each one seems to be worse than the last and I wonder when the bottom is going to drop out. This film is about a hostage negotiator breaking down an insane asylum overran by patients possessed by dark forces. Stephen Rea is too good for this and it makes me wish that he could work with Neil Jordan again. There’s a comedic element to the film, but I just can’t be bothered anymore. Skip it. The DVD comes with no special features.
