As we celebrate its 20th anniversary, the film chronicles the suspenseful months leading up to the UN’s 1995 World Conference on Women in Beijing, its impact and its unfinished legacy, with never before seen interviews and archival footage all told through the eyes of global leaders. A watershed moment for the advancement of women in the 21st century, the conference sparked a global commitment to the empowerment of women, drew unprecedented international attention and laid the foundation for the women who continue to champion these issues on behalf of women everywhere now and for generations to come.
