50 YEARS OF STAR TREK REVIEWED
“50 Years of Star Trek” is a filmed History Channel retrospective to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Star Trek. The documentary features the last filmed interview of Leonard Nimoy. So, there’s that. If you look past there, it’s 85 minutes of material that we’ve all seen before. The Star Trek franchise grew alongside with the American pop culture and new captains represented new sects of humanity.
If you dig archival clips and unseen footage, this is your bag. But, you’re probably the kind of viewer that obsesses over special features. I do appreciate D.C. Fontana and Ronald Moore getting even more attention on the documentary. Writers unite! Pick it up if you want a documentary to support your “Star Trek Beyond” viewings.
