“37: A Final Promise” is a dark romantic comedy about a rocker wanting to kill himself. As he makes plans to off himself on his 37th birthday, he meets a young woman who discovers she has ALS. Postponing his plan to kill himself, the rocker bonds with the woman. All the while, he’s trying to make peace with the death of his brother. It’s a bit trite, but the dialogue is fun and I buy the central relationship. Sadly I can’t say the same for some of the musical choices. In the end, I’d recommend a rental.
