WHERE TO INVADE NEXT

WHERE TO INVADE NEXT REVIEWED

Has it really been six years since I had to cover a Michael Moore documentary? “Where To Invade Next” capitalized on the promise of “Capitalism: A Love Story”. Moore has returned to his roots and found the promise of documentaries on human interest. Politics will always come up, but the guy works best when he back burners it. After all, it’s funnier to call out bullshit when the bullshitters can’t pick up on it.

“Where To Invade Next” finds Moore visiting foreign countries to reclaim American dream ideals that have benefitted other countries. Moore lets citizens explain how these freedoms work in other lands and why they should return here. Moore chimes in from time-to-time, but he has finally become the documentarian that “Roger & Me” promised us back in 1989. A strong, loud voice for the vulgarity of America that keeps stomped out by the never ending wheels of class based chicanery.

Knowing what I know about my target audience, I’m going to lose about half of you for praising Moore. What I say is give it a shot by the time it hits home video. Don’t be scared of the boogeymen that Roger Ailes wants you to believe exists. Watch this documentary and get angry by the fact that your basic freedoms are getting trampled on, while Nestle gets more welfare than the Eastern Seaboard of the United States. But, stay mad at the fat guy for documenting the hypocrisy. It’s working out really well for this country.
