WAKEFIELD

WAKEFIELD REVIEWED

“Wakefield” is an odd dark comedy about voyeurism. The fact that Cranston eats up a role that requires being a creepy voyeur, it creates something dark. The film is basically about a misogynist becoming a homeless person that mindlessly stalks his family. He pees in bottles, craps in plastic bags and just watches in glee at his family falling apart. Jennifer Garner works well almost in absentia, but she doesn’t quite play into the sexual fantasy of what’s going on here. This is the kind of film that is way more fascinating in concept, but the execution leaves a lot to be desired.
