VICEROY’S HOUSE REVIEWED

“Viceroy’s House” follows Lord and Lady Mountbatten, as they try to make sense of Post World War II India. Things are going great until Winston Churchill shows up to remind everyone that they need to keep India under control. With a firm British sensibility, the Mountbattens work with the Indians to find a way to find freedom for everyone. That last part is tricky in a caste system, but somehow everyone remains bright and cheery. For the woke folk that like to reframe history, this film will be problematic. Others will just enjoy a nice costume drama about a little covered period of history.
