TIGER HUNTER, THE

THE TIGER HUNTER REVIEWED

“The Tiger Hunter” is a pretty standard immigrant making it in America story. Danny Pudi comes into the role with earnest charm. What impressed me was the overall visual appeal of the movie. It’s hard to say something is 1979 on film, but this movie mixes Polaroid saturation with multiple raids on Robert Evans’ closet to create a world. If you can swing the charm of the visual approach, it will help make the movie far more charming.

Honestly, the film lives off the relationship between Jon Heder and Danny Pudi. These guys pal around and make the basement office scenes really pop. Both are guys that got typecast to certain kinds of characters, but exhibit ability far beyond what the mainstream recognizes. Also, kudos to Lena Khan. I’m not familiar with her work, but I will be following her future films with great interest. Major metro readers, go out and support this one!
