Green Acres: The Complete Series Debuts on DVD October 17 from Shout! Factory

Green Acres is the place to be! Green Acres: The Complete Series comes to DVD in a 24-disc set from Shout! Factory for the first time on October 17, 2017. Revisit your favorite friends from Hooterville in 170 episodes of farm-to-table homespun hilarity together on DVD for the first time!

Oliver Douglas (Academy Award® nominee* Eddie Albert) is a well-read lawyer who has had enough of the hustle and bustle of New York, so he pulls up stakes to settle down in a more pastoral setting … much to the dismay of his glamorous wife Lisa (Eva Gabor, The Rescuers), who’s more accustomed to life in The Big Apple than on a small farm.

Having said “goodbye, city life”, the Douglases must contend with their new surroundings – a bucolic world of slapstick silliness…and don’t get us started on one of television’s most recognizable theme songs!

A popular TV favorite throughout its six-season run from 1965 to 1971, Green Acres brings a comical touch of class to America’s favorite country comedy. Join transplanted New Yorkers, Oliver Wendell Douglas and his Park Avenue wife Lisa as they make a life-changing excursion to rural Hooterville, where they encounter the wackiest collection of neighbors this side of Arnold the Pig!

“HUMANS OF NEW YORK” Docuseries Coming to Facebook

As seen in The Hollywood Reporter , the docuseries, “Humans of New York”, based on photographer Brandon Stanton’s popular blog of the same name, will debut on Facebook’s new platform, The Watch, next week.  The 12-episode series from Brandon will feature interviews with the same diverse subjects often featured on his popular blog.  The half-hour series will also be executive produced by Julie Goldman, the Oscar-nominated documentary producer behind such films as Life, Animated and Weiner.

Much like the blog, the “Humans of New York” Facebook series will showcase intimate, candid and often surprising conversations with strangers on the streets of New York City. Stanton began working on the project about four years ago and has, over 400 days of filming, interviewed more than 1,200 people.

Goldman and her Motto Pictures production shingle teamed up with Stanton through mutual connections and was immediately struck by the material he had collected.

Stanton began “Humans of New York” in 2010 and has featured portraits and interviews of nearly 10,000 New Yorkers in the seven years since. The blog has also expanded into two New York Times best-selling books and a multiplatform social media presence. On Facebook alone, Humans of New York has more than 18 million followers. It also has a large Instagram presence, with 7 million followers.

“Humans of New York” is one of the handful of shows that Facebook is funding for its new Watch video tab, which it announced earlier this month. Watch is currently rolling out to Facebook’s 2 billion users and features a mix of short-form content — produced by video publishers such as Group Nine’s Thrillist and The Dodo and Vox Media — as well a handful of signature, funded projects that are longer in length. These include a competition series, Last State Standing, from American Ninja Warriors producer A. Smith and Co. and others.

“Humans of New York” will be available next week. New episodes will be released weekly. The Watch platform continues to roll out to users.

Shot Caller Arrives on on Blu-ray™ (plus Digital HD), DVD and Digital HD October 17

Witness a man’s descent down the rabbit hole of the American prison system when the intense crime thriller, Shot Caller, arrives on Blu-ray™ (plus Digital HD), DVD and Digital HD October 17 from Lionsgate. The film is currently available On Demand. Nikolaj Coster-Waldau stars as a family man sent to prison after a fatal traffic accident. While inside, he joins a gang for protection and becomes more deeply involved in criminal activity. The gritty prison drama’s all-star cast also includes Lake Bell, Jon Bernthal, Emory Cohen, and Benjamin Bratt. From the director of Snitch and the producers of Drive and Night Crawler, the Shot Caller Blu-ray and DVD will be available for the suggested retail price of $21.99 and $19.98, respectively.

Shot Caller follows the harrowing, often heartrending journey of successful businessman Jacob Harlon (Nikolaj Coster-Waldau) who is transformed into Money – a stoic, ruthless prison gangster – after a DUI sends him down the rabbit hole of the American prison system.   As he navigates the brutality of his new home, adapting to its violent codes of ethics and rites of passage that will ensure his survival, he slowly loses his previous identity and his relationship to his former life, including his wife and son. The grip of his new family, the prison gang, extends beyond the prison walls. Upon his release, chased by law enforcement and threatened by his incarcerated “protectors,” Money must orchestrate one last dangerous crime. All is not what it seems. The ruthless process of fulfilling his obligations also becomes his path to sacrifice, retribution, and self-definition.
