TAKE EVERY WAVE REVIEWED

“Take Every Wave” invites us to look at the Life of Laird Hamilton. Documentarian Rory Kennedy breaks out of the PBS fare to showcase his favorite surfer. It’s really cool seeing an older Gabby Reese showing up in the doc. Still, this thing plays like WOW ISN’T LAIRD HAMILTON THE GINCHIEST? The archival footage supports Hamilton being a God of the Waves. It’s just that when the documentary focuses on Hamilton as a person, it blows away the surfing stuff. The doc is of two minds and one mind is far more interesting than the other. I’d recommend a stream.
