“Sweet Trash” and “The Hangup” are two X rated films that also want to work as head trips. The films play around with sense and memory, while also working plenty of boobs. Hell, “The Hangup” has some direct parallels to “Inherent Vice”. It surprised me when I first watched and then I compared the two. Maybe, it was more of a mood thing.
I was tempted to do screen shots from the DVD, but I couldn’t find any quality shots without major nudity. Out of the three Vinegar Syndrome DVD releases, this was the tamest. Hell, the Avon triple feature DVD was three stag films that felt like they used to play in video booths. These films could also play as 70s grindhouse fare.
The DVD comes with original theatrical trailers for both films as the special features. The A/V Quality is amazing for standard definition. I’ve got to give Vinegar Syndrome credit for their amazing restoration jobs. The audio sound closer to a mono mix, but my receiver kept trying to say it was a Dolby 2.0 mix. I don’t know what to think of that. In the end, I’d recommend a purchase to fans of cult sex films.
