THE SOULTANGLER REVIEWED
“The Soultangler” was a cheap movie shot in 1985 and released in 1987. Shot for next-to-nothing, the film follows a mad scientist building a device that allows for soul transference into corpses. The problem is that the corpses eventually become maniacs. A lot of people want to compare it to Re-Animator, but it makes the Gordon movie look classy. This is a film about celebrating guerilla tactics to make gore for gore’s sake.
This is the kind of movie made of local flavor and usually banned from cable access. Why? Well, because it attacks your sensibilities and dares you to hang with it. Films like this aren’t for everyone, but you should make the time to endure it.
