ABC Daytime’s “One Life to Live” continues to establish itself as a destination for the music industries top artists with an appearance by rock band “Puddle of Mudd” TUESDAY, DECEMBER 30. The band will help the citizens of Llanview ring in the New Year with a performance of their hit single, “We Don’t Have to Look Back Now.”
“‘One Life to Live’ is committed to including musical performances as an important part of our storytelling,” said executive producer Frank Valentini. “We are thrilled to welcome a truly original band like Puddle of Mudd to our show.”
The band is set to appear at Rex Balsom’s (John-Paul Lavoisier) club Ultra Violet. Lead singer Wes Scantlin will also act in scenes with the characters of Rex and Gigi (Farah Fath). Puddle of Mudd joins an impressive list of recording artists to appear on “One Life to Live” that includes Snoop Dogg, two appearances by eight-time Grammy winner Mary J. Blige, Timbaland with Keri Hilson and One Republic, Nelly Furtado, Jeannie Ortega, Lifehouse, Simply Red, Chris Botti and Erykah Badu.
“We Don’t Have to Look Back Now” is the third hit single off their latest studio album, Famous. The album has already spawned two Top 5 singles on both the rock and alternative charts, “Psycho” and “Famous.” In addition to Mr. Scantlin, the band consists of bassist Douglas Ardito, guitarist Christian Stone and Ryan Yerdon on drums. The band debuted in 2001 with their album Come Clean, which boasted no less than four #1 alternative and rock radio hit singles, including “Blurry” that became the most played track on Modern Rock Radio for 2002 and was honored with the ASCAP Award for the most played song of the year. Following up on the multi-platinum success of their debut album, the band released Life On Display in 2003 which featured the Top 5 radio hit, “Away from Me” and the top 10 hit, “Heel Over Head.”
