ROALD DAHL’S THE BFG (1989)

ROALD DAHL’S THE BFG REVIEWED

“The BFG” returns with this classic 1989 Cosgrove Hall production. While this was the version that saw multiple replays on Nickelodeon and the Disney Channel from its release through the early 90s, it’s amazing to see how many viewers have forgotten about it. The adaptation stays far truer to the source material and then start delving into Spielberg’s daddy issues. However, the animation is very slight and lacks that usual Cosgrove punch-up. The best part of the disc is the new documentary that was included to celebrate Dahl’s 100th birthday.
