In anticipation of the “The View’s” Season Premiere on ABC, live, SEPTEMBER 8 (11:00 a.m.-12:00 noon, ET), viewers can visit the show’s official website at Aug. 24 – Sept. 4 for a countdown of the Top 10 most outrageous and talked-about moments from last season – such as the hilarious impersonation of a celebrity heiress and the heated on-air clash between a host and a political commentator that made national headlines. Plus, the site will feature an up-to-the-minute online clock to count down the days, hours, minutes and seconds until the launch of the new season.

Viewers will be treated to a reworked show open (featuring a new graphics package) with a variety of words that express the diverse subject matter discussed on “The View.” The current set will be revamped with a vibrant new color theme.

As previously announced, Meghan McCain, daughter of former GOP presidential candidate John McCain, is the first featured guest co-host (Sept. 9-11), to sit in for Elisabeth Hasselbeck who is currently on maternity leave but who returns to the show in mid-October. McCain, author of My Dad, John McCain, who also blogs for, made headlines following her April 23 guest co-host appearance on “The View” when the 24-year-old said “It’s very unprecedented for someone like Karl Rove or Dick Cheney to be criticizing the president.” “It’s very unprecedented, former vice president, and obviously Karl Rove, and my big criticism is: You had your eight years, go away.” Former Fox News Channel anchor E.D. Hill is confirmed as a guest co-host Sept. 23-24. Additional guest co-hosts will be announced at a later date.

Next week the ABC Television Network begins airing new promotional spots featuring all five co-hosts set to Miley Cyrus’ cover of Cyndi Lauper’s 1983/84 pop classic, “Girls Just Want to Have Fun.”

“The View” features Barbara Walters, Whoopi Goldberg, Joy Behar, Elisabeth Hasselbeck and Sherri Shepherd. It’s the original forum in which real women discuss everyday issues, share their opinions and engage in colorful conversations.
