OPERATION PETTICOAT: OLIVE SIGNATURE 1

OPERATION PETTICOAT: OLIVE SIGNATURE REVIEWED

“Operation Petticoat” needs a restoration. While the Blu was previously scheduled to be released about a month ago, the transfer issues were initially more tech oriented. The encode was broken, but the new release is fixed. The only thing it suffers from is Paramount thinking that their classic library doesn’t deserve proper attention. Hell, this movie was one of their biggest earners in 1959. Doesn’t that mean something?

If you haven’t seen the film, it’s pretty dated. Tony Curtis is a con man and Cary Grant is the father figure trying to keep him in-line. Things are going great until their little ship has to pick up some female nurses. Just imagine the trouble five ladies can get into on a remote ship with…MEN. We laugh about it now, but this was edgy comedy back in the day. Pick it up before it goes out of print.
