NBC NEWS AND MSNBC HONORED WITH 12 EMMY AWARD NOMINATIONS

NBC News and MSNBC have received a total of 12 News and Documentary Emmy Award nominations, the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences announced today. The 30th Annual News and Documentary Emmy Awards will be presented on September 21, 2009 at a ceremony at Frederick P. Rose Hall, Home of Jazz at Lincoln Center in New York City.

“NBC Nightly News with Brian Williams” was honored with five nominations, including two for “Tip of the Spear, ” a Richard Engel report. “Tip of the Spear” has previously been honored with a Peabody award, Edward R. Murrow award, Sigma Delta Chi award, and Overseas Press Club award citation, making it one of the most celebrated reports of the award season.
