MILTON BERLE’S LOW IMPACT/HIGH COMEDY WORKOUT REVIEWED
“Milton Berle’s Low Impact/High Comedy Workout” is quite the early 90s oddity. Coming at the height of the home video craze, somebody thought that Milton Berle would be the ideal home fitness superstar. While the program was targeted at getting seniors active and less depressed, the workout is incredibly low impact and lacks focus. Still, it’s nice to see a niche market being targeted. That being said, it’s a fitness video full of the cringe that the young kids love to watch.
Milton Berle takes audiences through forced slams at homosexuals, cross dressing and plenty of fat jokes. All the while, the featured active seniors force themselves to laugh at his jokes. The level of awkwardness onscreen is stunning. This is the kind of material that Found Footage Film Festivals love to discover, so get ahead of your hipster friends and pick up a copy. Seriously, the Richard Simmons scene is worth the price of admission alone. I love that Mill Creek is so willing to take a shot on weird titles like this.
