THE PLOT THUS FAR
A happy newlywed marriage counselor’s views on wedded bliss get thrown for a loop when she finds out her parents are getting divorced.
WHAT WE THOUGHT
When a newly wedded marriage counselor learns that her seemingly happy parents are serious candidates for divorce, she throws all the rules out the window to repair their fractured relationship. Mandy Moore did the best she could with a terrible character. It’s hard to like a movie that feels like every melodramatic romantic claptrap that you’ve seen since birth.
The film is a formulaic romantic comedy that should entertain all of the romantics out there. Although there is not originality there is a certain charm about the film that tops up a lot romantic comedies out there. This is not a film for a film buff to get something out off right when he leaves the theater. This is a film to enjoy while it lasts, and enjoy the beautiful people in this film. This is not a film that will define the way we make films. This is just pure entertainment.
The Blu-Ray comes with a trailer as its sole special feature. The A/V Quality sports a rather impressive 1080p transfer for a romantic feature. However, the audio is very lossy and loses all back channel ability to punch up the film’s soundstage. Still, this isn’t the kind of movie that shows off insane range. I’d recommend a rental.
