American journalist Lisa Ling, former co-host of “The View” (1999-2002), will return the week of October 5 and co-host two live shows, Monday, Oct. 5 and Tuesday, Oct. 6, and will be seated alongside pals Barbara Walters and Joy Behar, Whoopi Goldberg and Sherri Shepherd. Ms. Ling returned to co-host “The View” on May 27, 2003 and has made three guest appearances (12/08/08, 9/29/08 and 3/27/08) since vacating her chair on “The View” on December 5, 2002. She is currently a correspondent for “The Oprah Winfrey Show” and CNN. Ms. Ling’s sister, Laura Ling, was one of two journalists detained and released this year by North Korea.

“I’m thrilled to be mixing it up with the women again. I’m hoping that some serious debate ensues,” said Ms. Ling.
