THE PLOT THUS FAR
Step into Tyler Perry’s neighborhood, peel back the rough exterior and BEHOLD! Get on the laugh wagon as some of your favorite stage stars strut, sing and remind us, no matter how tough it gets, that laughter, faith and love are the best remedies.
WHAT WE THOUGHT
Tyler Perry directs this warm-hearted, music-filled play about a single block of apartments in an inner-city neighborhood and the diverse characters living there: some pious, some bad and nearly all just trying to get by.
There wasn’t enough emotion in this play. This is the first time I have ever given a Tyler Perry play a bad review, but this it’s not him. Normally his plays had laughter and drama, but not over-the-top like this one and that is what made him famous!
The DVD comes with cast and audience interviews. The A/V Quality is standard for captured performances on Standard Definition. Most of these Tyler Perry play DVDs follow a standard protocol. Nothing changes and you get the same thing with a different cast each time. I’d recommend a rental.
