LACE CRATER REVIEWED
“Lace Crater” is a mumblecore horror comedy about having sex with a ghost. If you’re expecting anything else in this short run time, I’m not sure what you need. The lead chick vomits black ooze in a car. That was kind of cool. Honestly, the film only works when it tries to make sense of ghost carnal mechanics.
Everything else about being a lonely white young woman doesn’t really matter. It’s all dressing for the ghost sex. The scene is fleeting, but the aftermath dominates so much of the film. Is it a statement on modern relationships? Does ghost dong come with STDs? These are the answers that we’ll never receive. I have no idea why the new Blair Witch made me think of this movie.
