LA VIE DE JEAN-MARIE REVIEWED
“La Vie De Jean-Marie” is 2 hours and 46 minutes of an old French Priest talking to us and showing off his home. What could’ve been a 30 minute short film now stretches on for an eternity. I talked to others that watched it and they found it peaceful. Honestly, it must be the sugar in my blood and my jittery nerves, because I could barely handle it. This the kind of foreign film that keeps the average viewer from watching foreign films. It’s not that it’s daunting, it’s just that it’s hard to stay interested in for the sake being hard to follow.
When your film advertises a segment that features a minutes long profession of love, you’re running on fumes. Where’s the lead up to that moment? Why isn’t that moment earned? It’s frustrating and just not what I needed right now.
