KNOCK KNOCK 2

THE PLOT THUS FAR

Based on found footage, the story centers on four friends in their early 20s. Last year, on the night before Halloween, they decided to go on a self made tour of famous Hollywood murders and celebrity haunted houses. The tour led them to a house known as 1666. They have been missing ever since.

WHAT WE THOUGHT

“Knock Knock 2″ is a terrible movie. It looks like it was shot over a weekend by a couple of friends. The grand premise is that the group is taking a Haunted Hollywood tour of famous murder sites around the city. Eventually, they find a house that turns out to be more than they expected. Jump scares and pseudo horror abounds, as nothing really happens.

The found footage horror subgenre seems to be killing American horror. While there are still a few defenders for the tired “Paranormal Activity” franchise, 90% of the subgenre falls beneath those films. The end result is a motion picture that plays lazy at best and as a cash ploy at worst. If you ever remember this film, it will be because something traumatic happened at the Redbox while you ignored it. I’m not saying that something traumatic will happen, but it’s probably going to be more entertaining than this junk.

The DVD comes with interviews and a trailer gallery. The A/V Quality is iffy at best. During darker scenes, the standard definition transfer comes apart. I’m not even going to bring up the lack of back channel support on the Dolby track. Oh wait! I just did and it’s terrible. In the end, I’d recommend passing on it.
