THE PLOT THUS FAR
College students and best friends Ginger Matheson, Jim Duncan, and Kyle “Dixie” Canning, pool their cash to buy a “ghost” in an online auction. The three think it’s all a goof, but once they open up the antique box to examine their “treasure,” they unleash the vengeful spirit of an Irish servant girl who has been wreaking havoc on her owners throughout the generations.
WHAT WE THOUGHT
A trio of college pals merge their funds for an unusual online auction purchase…an 18th century box which houses the malevolent spirit of a murdered Irish servant girl. When the box is opened, the ghost is set free, and predictable carnage ensues. If you’ve ever seen a horror movie before, you know how this ends.
Outside of following the main characters, the backgrounds were very out-of-present and a little gloomy. Being a sucker for ghost/demonic/satanic flicks, this was way better than other horror flicks I’ve had to endure in the past year. Still, it’s nothing that terrible and I’d recommend giving it a chance.
The DVD comes with a trailer as its sole special feature. The A/V Quality is pretty strong with a Dolby 5.1 track that’s rather supportive. The standard definition transfer is pretty flat, but it holds up for an indie horror flick. In the end, I’d recommend a rental.
