JUST SHOOT ME: THE COMPLETE SERIES

JUST SHOOT ME: THE COMPLETE SERIES REVIEWED

“Just Shoot Me” gets the complete series treatment. While I love that Shout is archiving these modern ‘classics’ in complete DVD runs, I have to wonder what the fanbase is for this show. For those that don’t know, the show was originally supposed to debut a year earlier on NBC. However, the complexity that is “Suddenly Susan” won out due to the crass similarities between programs. “Just Shoot Me” retooled and added David Spade into the mix.

The rest of the show is seven seasons of office banter and hi-jinks that are different the faux documentary sitcoms that everyone enjoys now. Hindsight is weird, as most of the jokes seem canned and stagey for no one’s sake. I do appreciate that the special features have the magazine covers for Blush in a photo gallery. The images fly by so fast during the show that it’s easy to miss some of the jokes. Pick it up, if you’re a fan.
