I AM THE BLUES REVIEWED
“I Am The Blues” is so deep into the material that it would make Robert Crumb moist. For two hours, every legendary juke joint and Blues club in the Delta gets toured. A lot of the information can be found a Wiki-click away. What makes the material really pop is the collection of interviews from Lazy Lester to Henry Gray. A lot of these guys are not long for this world, so these documentaries serve as historical documents. This is truly amazing work and I’d love it if a future release featured an uncompressed audio track.
