HOTEL TRANSYLVANIA 3: SUMMER VACATION

HOTEL TRANSYLVANIA 3: SUMMER VACATION REVIEWED

“Hotel Transylvania 3: Summer Vacation” is the latest installment in Adam Sandler not having his movies go to Netflix. This time, Vlad is having a hard time dealing with being a single undead grandpa. He wants to meet a lady, but his friends and family want to go on Summer Vacation. So, the funny monsters take a boat cruise with a secretive Van Helsing. Eventually, the cruise director gets outed as a monster killer that wants to take them all to the Bermuda Triangle.

Vlad finds love, the monsters prevail and your kids beg you to buy it on Digital, Blu, 4K and whatever else can fit into the back of a mini-van. It suffers from so much of what plagued Part 2. It feels like a prolonged collection of TV episodes rather than a necessary film. That’s not entirely fair, as the Peanuts routinely got films that played the same through 1969-1980. I guess it’s age blinding me to the appeal for kids.

Hell, if it wasn’t for the little kids in my life I’d probably not even realize that these films exist. Still, good on Adam Sandler for getting kids into vampires.
