HARMONIUM

HARMONIUM REVIEWED

“Harmonium” is another modern Japanese film about your past will kill you. How many films since 2000 have arrived in the region about how a past lie will ruin your family? For a bit, Kitano was practically making such an idea into a decade’s worth of work. While I prefer the short film included on the disc, I can see this film being a workable entry point to new fans of Asian cinema. I do have to add a bit of disclaimer. There is happier Asian cinema out there. South Korea gets pretty inventive now.
