GREY’S ANATOMY: THE COMPLETE EIGHTH SEASON

THE PLOT THUS FAR

Enjoy all the romance, laughter and heart-stopping moments of one of television’s most celebrated dramas with ABC’s Grey’s Anatomy: The Complete Eighth Season. No matter how hot it gets – in the operating room or in the bedroom – the doctors of Seattle Grace know they can always lean on one another. As fifth year residents, it’s do or die for the doctors, and things get bumpy when the chief makes a decision that rocks the entire staff. Outside the hospital, Meredith and Derek struggle to keep their relationship afloat while they try to adopt an orphaned baby girl, and Christina wrestles with a difficult choice that could ruin her marriage. Relive every unforgettable love and loss of ABC’s wildly popular series, containing all 24 episodes of season eight, plus never-before-seen bonus features. No Grey’s Anatomy collection is complete without it!

WHAT WE THOUGHT

“Grey’s Anatomy” opens its eighth season with a nice of WTF is this shit? Grey has screwed with McDreamy’s study and got herself fired. Her half-sister is screwing every random dude. There’s the stuff with the lesbians. Plus, the guy from Call of Duty shows up to try and muster up bro points for the show. However, it’s just a mess in every sense of the word.

The eighth season continues that proud tradition the show has for not pulling anything off until the overly drastic season finale. They try to bring a season long threat with the medical boards getting ready to splinter up the old gang. However, it feels trite and almost “Scrubs” like but without a janitor to actually muster a laugh. I’ll have to wait until the next season release to see who died.

The DVD comes with extended episodes, deleted scenes, bloopers and a featurette. The A/V Quality is pretty sharp with a dynamic Dolby 5.1 track. The standard definition transfer works for what it is. However, I can’t call it that amazing. It’s still worth a purchase to fans of the show.
