FIST 2 FIST 2: WEAPON OF CHOICE

WEAPON OF CHOICE REVIEWED

“Weapon of Choice” feels like a Golden Harvest movie of old. Well, mix that together with the crime movies that Japan was dropping in the late 1990s. Then, flip that with the action staging that you expect from a talent like Jino Kang. Kang doesn’t make a ton of movies, so each of his releases should be treated like an event. Well, only for Martial Arts fans…I guess.

The film is pretty standard. Ex-badass has to handle the stress of dealing with his kid’s real dad. It could be a sitcom, it’s so straight-forward. But, this TGIF asskicker matches tempo with purpose. What I loved was how stabby things got without complicated plot points. Sometimes, I just want to watch people die in the name of martial arts shenanigans. Is that so wrong? Check it out on the Fight Channel later this summer. If you disagree with me, yell at me on the Channels.

You could also try civil discourse, but that’s not American. Stick to the yelling.
