‘FACE THE ACE’ CONTESTANT GOES HEADS UP WITH ONE OF THE WORLD’S BEST POKER PROS FOR A SHOT AT $1 MILLION

In this week’s episode of NBC’s new poker-themed game show “Face The Ace,” Don Topel, a truck driver from Illinois, will risk it all against a professional poker player in heads-up no limit hold’em to win the top prize of $1 million. In an exhilarating match, Topel aims to win it all to achieve his dream of buying a condo for his family. “Face The Ace” airs Saturday, August 8 at 9pm EDT on NBC.

In a gripping premiere episode, Don Topel tried his luck against the “athlete on the felt,” Erick Lindgren. Despite being on the brink of elimination, Topel won an intense first round and decided to continue for the $200,000 prize. Howard “The Professor” Lederer proved to be a tough competitor, but Topel managed to triumph over the “Ace” winning $200,000. In the dramatic conclusion, Topel decided he will gamble for the $1 million prize. On the August 8th episode, viewers will find out if Topel’s risky move will pay off or if he will be leaving empty-handed.

Hosted by Steve Schirripa (“The Sopranos”), “Face the Ace” gives online qualifiers a chance to go heads-up against some of the world’s best poker pros for a shot at $1 million. The poker-themed game show, which premiered on August 1, features four smoked-glass doors that hold behind each a world-class professional poker player. In each episode, one or more lucky contestants get to pick an “Ace” and their opponent will emerge from behind one of the doors. They will play an exhilarating heads-up no limit hold’em game that requires aggression, poise and bluffing.

The contestant will play up to three different “Aces” in a series of heads-up matches. The first match will be played for $40,000. If the contestant wins, they can keep the $40,000 or play a different pro for $200,000. If the contestant wins the second match, they can keep the $200,000 or play a third pro for $1,000,000. Win a third match and they take home $1 million. If the contestant loses at any point, they walk away with nothing.

“Face the Ace” is produced by Poker PROductions, the producers of “Poker After Dark.”
