WHAT WE THOUGHT
“Elmo’s Music Magic” revolves around Elmo findings a “magic wand” that when waved turns things in to music. If he waves it one way people sing instead of speaking and if he waves a different way voices get higher or lower, or faster or slower. There is little dialogue here but at least 14 clever songs are performed by both Muppet characters or “celebrity guests” from all genres.
Elmo and Abby steal the show, as they use magic and music to teach kids about co-ordination and other important aspects of arts education. Loud and Soft, Fast and Slow are all taught by Diana Krall, John Legend and others in a way that young children can relate. Basically, it’s your average Sesame Street DVD with a ton of music to keep the kids bopping along.
The DVD comes with a Will.I.Am music video and a sing-along option for the kids that like to play loud. The A/V Quality is decent for a standard definition disc with a solid transfer and supportive Dolby 2.0 Surround audio. It’s not impressive for those that live and die by their home theaters. That being said, it’s a godsend for parents that want to keep the little ones quiet. I’d recommend a purchase.
