DIAMOND CARTEL REVIEWED
“Diamond Cartel” is quite the oddball film. It started life as another production, before the Kazakh creative powers that be decided to reshoot and cut it into something else. From there, characters arrive and disappear. Hell, Peter O’ Toole shows up in a supporting role that was shot before his death. Given how odd this film gets, I wouldn’t have put it past them to prop up a corpse and move the lips with fishing line. Did I mention that Michael Madsen is in the movie for a minute?
It might be less than that, as he does show up and gets promptly shot in the face. What’s crazy about the movie is that when you follow Armand Assante’s plot, you have a pretty solid crime drama. From there, it’s a mix of Triad Bosses and Mideast entanglements producing a movie so bad that hipsters at Largo will love it. Check it out, before your La Croix sippin’ friends find it first.
