THE PLOT THUS FAR
Six guests are invited to a strange house and must cooperate with the staff to solve a murder mystery.
WHAT WE THOUGHT
“Clue” has aged better than I expected. The cast is perfect, Landis & Lynn’s script is great and the flow is unmatched. But, this was another one of those films where I needed to take a decade away from the feature. It used to air non-stop on WGN and HBO when I was a kid and I hit the point of saturation. If everyone else can experience such a lovely return to a film, then I ask everyone to do it.
This movie also has some great music, both haunting and beautiful along with it’s nice visuals and some brilliant cinematography, but the two things that stood out the best are the clever story and it’s gem of a script. It has some hilarious moments and some smooth and witty dialog including the singing telegram scene which made me laugh my head off and where Wadsworth running around while repeating the events that happened throughout the film almost near the end of film with three hilarious endings that are so timeless it would make you want to watch it over and over again.
The Blu-Ray comes with a trailer and multiple ways to view the multiple endings. Hell, you can even play roulette with the endings from the opening menu. The A/V Quality is pretty strong with an amazing 1080p transfer and DTS-HD 2.0 track. I wish that we could’ve seen some of the stuff deleted from the final film. Still, it works. In the end, I’d recommend a purchase.
