BROAD CITY: SEASON 4 REVIEWED
“Broad City” returns with one more season than Chappelle got. Well, dude went crazy and this chicks remain niche popular! Most of you know will this show as the thing that immediately starts after South Park. Others will know it from social media clips from Soy Boys yelling Yass Queen while female friends passingly praise it. We get it. Girls can have gross stoner shows about being pals and making their way through whatever Bosom Buddies style shenanigans come their way.
This season finds the ladies going on a scavenger hunt and dealing with gray hair. They also deal with living in Trump’s America and all of that crap that people don’t want to hear. But, they need to share their truth. The same truth that keeps getting repeated over and over again. He sucks, he’s a criminal and he’ll be gone eventually. We get it, the world gets it, now crack a fucking joke. That’s ultimately the downfall of this show.
Broad City is quite funny and creates a well-defined world. But, it keeps falling back on social safety nets to pad out the series. Hopefully, Season 5 grows beyond it.
