BLACKLIST, THE: THE COMPLETE FIFTH SEASON

THE BLACKLIST: THE COMPLETE FIFTH SEASON REVIEWED

“The Blacklist” enters a fifth season of Megan Boone trying to hang with James Spader. Spader hasn’t been peak Spader since his Robert California days, but he manages to keep it together until the show hits 100 episodes. The series is returning mid-season in 2019, but I kinda wish there was an effort to wrap up the series. Elizabeth Keen is hitting a point where her ability to be a FBI agent makes no sense either more. Either she has to stay with the Law or make a real decision to join Red. Oh well, it’s still Spader on a weekly basis.

The Plot Thus Far

Feeling surprisingly unencumbered, Raymond Reddington (James Spader) is back, and in the process of rebuilding his criminal empire. His lust for life is ever-present as he lays the foundation for this new enterprise – one that he’ll design with Elizabeth Keen (Megan Boone) by his side. Liz finds herself torn between her role as an FBI agent and the temptation to act on her more criminal instincts. In a world where the search for Blacklisters has become a family trade, Red will undoubtedly reclaim his moniker as the “Concierge of Crime.”
