BEYOND

THE PLOT THUS FAR

A detective teams with a tabloid psychic to track down a missing child.

WHAT WE THOUGHT

“Beyond” opens on a seven year old girl named Amy being kidnapped in the night. The mother named Sarah asks for help a radio-man with psychic powers who says to have seen her alive. The police chief who is the victim’s uncle assigns the case a veteran detective from Anchorage Police Department. The semi-retired Inspector John Koski teams with a tabloid psychic to track down the missing child.

The film is bad. There’s a reason why this movie seemingly went to DVD with the speed of a freight train running over a box of kittens. Jon Voight continues the downward spiral that seemed to have befallen many Ray Millands before him. Teri Polo gets a chance to break out of her comedy schtick and do even worse movies. Everything else is a blur of suck.

The DVD comes with no special features. The A/V Quality is lacking to say the least. The Dolby track allows for dialogue to be frequently stepped on. The transfer is muddy and unclear. Plus, the film sucks. In the end, I’d recommend skipping it.
