BENDER

BENDER REVIEWED

“Bender” plays like what could be a really great hour long drama on a TV anthology. However, the film pads an extra 15 minutes into the mix to make the movie play as a feature. While James Karen comes across the best he’s been since the 1980s, everyone else just hits average notes. The whole brutal murders on the frontier horror angle has been done before and seems to be staring down a resurgence. I enjoy how this movie pushes the aesthetic up-close and pretty uncomfortable. What’s even funnier is that there’s an unintentional Cannibal the Musical homage towards the end. Pick up the film and see if you can spot it.
