THE PLOT THUS FAR
A romantic comedy which looks at a group of thirty-somethings trying to figure out life, love and marriage.
WHAT WE THOUGHT
All-too-aware that they’ll be turning 35 soon, four friends struggle to reconcile reality with the hopes and dreams they have about starting families and finding happiness with someone they really love. This movie had a great combination of comedy, romance, real life, and it was relatable. I also stumbled across it on the internet. All actors performed well and didn’t overact like in some other movies. Still, it’s nothing different than any other movie you’ve seen.
Zenobia, a sexy sportscaster, yearns to find a man to settle down with, so, out of all places, she looks for that ideal man via an internet dating site. It wouldn’t be a surprise to state that she doesn’t exactly get what she asked for once she meets the man in person. Victoria wants to have children, but her husband doesn’t want to make that commitment. Phil has a wife who cheats on him and neglects to take care of his child. Finally, there’s Cleavon makes ends meet by often donating sperm to a sperm back, and he tries to keep that secret buried while pursuing a girl.
The Blu-Ray comes with deleted scenes, production featurette and photo gallery. The DTS-HD 5.1 master audio track is pretty strong, but it still feels lossy when you have a group scene with a lot of overlapping dialogue. The 1080p transfer also isn’t much to write home about. There’s edge enhancement and a faint haze throughout the print. In the end, I’d recommend a cautious rental.
